School Supplies

We are excited to welcome our students back to school on August 6! As we prepare for a strong start to the new school year, we encourage you to review your child’s school supply list to ensure they are ready for success.

Basic Supplies:

• 2- spiral notebooks or composition notebooks
• 2-3 pocket folders
• Pencils
• Pens
• Scientific calculator for math (TI-30XIIS) Click here for examples.

Recommended supplies include:

• Index cards
• Post-it Notes
• Highlighters

If individual teachers require additional supplies, those items will be listed in the course syllabus.

Important Information About Weapons Detection Systems

Athens High School uses weapons detection systems at all building entrances to help maintain a safe learning environment. Certain items, such as 3-ring binders with metal rings, spiral-bound notebooks, eyelash curlers, umbrellas, and stainless steel cups, may inadvertently trigger these systems.  When possible, we encourage students to use alternatives such as plastic folders and composition notebooks to help ensure a smoother entrance process each day. Please note that 3-ring binders must be removed from backpacks and screened separately upon arrival.
